The 2009 Iowa Trauma Coordinators (ITC) Spring Conference, to be held June 17, will cover a variety of topics, all with a focus on providing excellent trauma care.

Sessions will include an overview of traumatic injuries that may be seen in the emergency department setting and the role of the medical examiner in those cases; the responsibility of a system evaluation and quality improvement committee in reviewing quality indicators and identifying challenges to the Iowa trauma system; lessons learned during the collector educational sessions; loop closure as part of trauma performance improvement; caring for pediatric trauma patients; and family presence at the bedside of critically ill patients in the emergency department.

The ITC Spring Conference will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn-Des Moines/Urbandale in Johnston. Detailed conference information will be available in the coming weeks.
