The Foundation Professionals for Iowa Hospitals Spring Conference was held April 8, 2009 in Des Moines. Those who attended the conference heard an eye opening presentation from Jerry Linzy, senior managing partner and chief operating officer of Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners, a nationally recognized firm specializing in helping develop fund raising and campaign programs.

Linzy covered several areas of campaign development, including:

• importance of completing a feasibility study before moving forward with any campaign
• role of the hospital board in a campaign
• importance of stewardship

One attendee commented at the conclusion of the conference,

“I am going to share what I learned today with my CEO because after this amazing conference, I know we have a culture to change here.  Jerry confirmed what I thought was needed, only in a much broader sense. He is amazing and I am going to see if he will come and provide my Foundation board a strategic planning session.”
